Meet our Principal

Meet the BEST Principal in the whole World!

Mr. Jason Marquez

Hello Norte Vista Students and Families!

Welcome—and thank you for visiting our website! We’re excited you’re taking the time to explore all the incredible academic, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities that Norte Vista High School has to offer. Whether you're a current Brave or considering becoming one, there's something here for everyone—and we can’t wait for you to experience it all.

At Norte Vista, we’re committed to shaping well-rounded, future-ready graduates. Our Portrait of a Graduate is more than just a vision—it’s a dynamic framework guided by clear student learning outcomes and enriched by real-world experiences that prepare students for success in college, careers, and life beyond high school.

As I proudly begin my ninth year as principal of this extraordinary school, I can confidently say: Norte Vista is something truly special. Every hallway, classroom, and program is filled with passionate student leaders and dedicated staff members who go above and beyond every single day. I invite you to come visit us in person—once you step on campus, you’ll feel the difference. There’s energy, pride, and purpose in everything we do.

A little about me: I’ve been in education for over 26 years, serving as a middle and high school special education teacher, a school counselor, and an assistant principal here at NVHS. I’ve also had the privilege of leading an alternative education high school before returning to Norte Vista as your principal.

I hold degrees and credentials from UC Irvine, CSU San Bernardino, and the University of Redlands. Outside of school, I’ve been happily married for 26 years and am the proud parent of three amazing children: a nurse, an aerospace engineer, and a current junior in college.

Thank you again for your time—and your continued support of “The Best High School in the World.” Let’s make this school year one to remember!

Go Braves!

My name is David Danks, and I would like to thank you for taking the time to read a little about who I am and what I bring to the Norte Vista Family. A middle child of a very large family, I have been blessed with being accepted into an even larger family here at Novi. I bring a passion for helping students that started over 40 years ago as a father, teacher, coach, college instructor, and, most recently, Assistant Principal. I live my life helping our youth, as a foster parent for 10 years, and a father for the past 25 years.

I received my M.A.Ed. from the University of Phoenix, B.S.Ed. from Central Michigan University, and an A.S. from Delta College. I have taught in the classroom for 22 years and have been an administrator for over 3 years. My goal is to help as many students, parents, or community members in my path as I can, no matter man woman, or child. If you have not had the opportunity to meet me, please do not hesitate to reach out to me by phone or email listed below.
